Jord BioScience Launches First-of-Its-Kind Biostimulant
Delivering consistent performance and yield advantage over elite industry standards
Saint Paul, Minnesota, August 14, 2026 — Jord BioScience today announced the commercial launch of its first commercially available product, 9311, a field-proven biostimulant that delivered a 2.6-bushel-per-acre average yield advantage in soybeans over elite industry-standard seed treatments and biologicals across three years of trials. The product is built on an ecology-guided approach to microbe selection and Jord’s proprietary collection of more than 6,500 isolates curated over three decades.
The trials spanned low, medium and high yield environments across a dry season in 2023, a wet season in 2024 and mixed conditions in 2025. Jord BioScience’s 9311 achieved a 79 percent win rate across those environments, along with a 30 percent increase in early-season biomass compared with an elite commercial treatment base. Commercial trials in 2026 have also shown strong early-season performance, including enhanced emergence, nodulation and vigor, consistent with previous years’ results.
9311 is designed to complement the crop input programs farmers already utilize. Originating in the U.S. prairielands, it is built to perform in nutrient- and water-stressed environments, supporting early crop establishment, season-long performance and yield enhancement across a range of field conditions.
“Biologicals need to consistently deliver top performance across regions and seasons. That’s not just a feature of this category, it's the whole game," said Dr. Keri Carstens, President and CEO of Jord BioScience. "Farmers won’t adopt what they can’t rely on, and our partners need performance that builds greater ROI across the value chain. We are raising the bar – a win isn’t just breaking even. Our 9311 product delivers early season results and yield bumps exceeding 0.5 bushels per acre over 79 percent of the time. 9311 is the first, and it will not be the last. That is how we bring better tools to farmers.”
The product works below the surface, treating the soil microbiome as a system rather than a collection of individuals and improving how microbes function together to strengthen both the inputs applied and the microbiome itself. 9311 is the first product to deliver microbial activator technology to growers. Pioneered by Jord, the technology evaluates microbes for their ability to colonize, persist and function alongside the microbes, plants, nutrients and chemistry already present in a field, rather than for what a single microbe can do on its own.
"Soil is not a blank slate. Any microbe we introduce enters a community that has been competing, communicating and collaborating for far longer than any product cycle," said Dr. Linda Kinkel, Founder and Chief Science Officer of Jord BioScience. "The industry has spent decades refining what a microbe does and far less time asking whether it can survive and perform where it is introduced. 9311 is proof that an ecology-guided approach can deliver what farmers need."
Jord BioScience’s 9311 is available now to commercial partners, with additional products coming soon from diverse leads in the company’s innovation pipeline. Jord is also collaborating with seed, fertilizer and crop protection partners on custom microbial discovery programs designed around existing portfolios. About Jord BioScience
Jord BioScience is redefining how biologicals perform in the field. Jord selects microbes that activate stronger coordination across the soil ecosystem. This approach strengthens soil systems and improves biological and conventional input performance, delivering more consistent, field-proven results across environments. By turning microbial interactions into a measurable advantage, Jord helps partners and growers reduce risk and get more reliable returns from every acre.
